Pug    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Why hello there Pug lovers! My name is Tobey, and I have a secret for you. Come close%BD'%BD|closer%BD'%BD|even closer%BD'%BD|You are going to adopt me!!! Thanks in advance! They tell me I'm a very special pug, because of the distinguishing white birth mark on my head. I'm completely potty trained and love to explore on my walks. It's also been discovered that I like car rides, however, I fall asleep during most of the trip. Kind of makes me an awesome travel buddy%BD'%BD| and they think I am about 12 years young. At my foster parents, I enjoy sleeping in my humans' bed, belly rubs, golf cart rides, and just being by your ... (Read More)side. When my human mommy was unable to care for me, I was turned into to a vet and lived there for three months. No, I am not able to perform surgery on cats, but I saw some interesting things. Anyways, the delightful folks here at PROoF brought me in to find a more suitable forever home. I am beginning to lose my hearing, so I get a bit anxious when I cannot see you. Also, I have some separation anxiety, but I'm working with my fellow foster pug brother to get better each day. You'll be so proud of me once I get settled into your place. Wink, wink - that application isn't going to fill out itself. Like some pugs, I have several mass cell tumors on me. But, I haven't let the tumors slow me down from all the activities pugs love to do with their humans. I hope that one day I will find a loving forever home (like yours). Until that time comes, I will wait patiently for you while my Pug Rescue friends watch over me. Pug Rescue of Florida depends solely on donations and volunteers. Please give today with either your heart by adopting a pug in need, your time by volunteering with our organization, or a monetary donation to pay for the high medical bills our rescued Pugs incur. Thank you for caring!!! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-25-00165Breh (female)

Pug    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, I'm Breh (pronounced Brie), I'm 9 years old, 21lbs, and I'm one of the five recently taken in by PROoF. After my mom passed away, my dad just couldn't care for all of us properly. I know I was loved though and I'm super affectionate. My 'husband', Otis, moved with me into my new foster home and we are both fitting in quite well with our two foster brothers. Since we came from a big family, we really enjoy being around other dogs but don't need to stay together at all. My foster family has a cat, which is fine with me. My foster mom calls me her little piglet because of the oinks and snorts I make when I'm excited. I am potty ... (Read More)trained, but not quite sure what to do when I'm on a leash. My foster parents are working on that. I am heartworm negative and up to date on all of my shots. Unfortunately, my teeth were pretty neglected and the vet said I am going to lose some . The good news is, I had a dental on 2/24/17 and won't be in pain any longer from bad teeth. I'm told that I need to lose a little weight, but nothing that can't be fixed with proper diet and exercise. Most notably about me is my super long tongue. I don't mean to stick my tongue out at you (Ok, maybe sometimes I do because I'm a spunky little girl with a sassy attitude). I am quite the attention hog and will not hesitate to wiggle my way in front of anyone else you are paying attention to or just plop down on your lap. My foster mom sometimes calls me Queen Breh because I think I run this house. If you are looking for a sweet little piggy puggy, please fill out an application today! Maybe even fill out one for my man Otis too, you know I love my beau! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-20-00603Ebony (female)

Pug    Age: Senior

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello my fellow Pug lovers! My name is Ebony, and I am very happy to meet you!!! As you have already noticed, I am a stunningly beautiful little fawn female pug. My journey led me to Pug Rescue of Florida after my prior owners could no longer care for me. They had many dogs, and I guess we were all too much. Also, I think they may have confused me with one of my prior siblings, as they stated I was 13 years old. My foster parents are not so certain about that, maybe there was a mix-up in paperwork because I look and act like an 8 year old. Either way, I know you will love me forever like the little princess I am! A tiny pug princess throne ... (Read More)(#TPPT) is not included with my adoption, but you could certainly get me one! Did I mention that I'm only 16lbs, so I am very portable, too! I am your typical pug in that I love to eat and love to love you!!! My foster parents also say that I am a Velcro pug with that pug perfect energy level--playful and/or laid back when I need to be; and always happiest when I am by your side. Seriously, I will follow you all over the house, I love being with you! You will be happy to know that I am very well-behaved, crate trained, and potty trained. In fact, I'm a little funny because I only seem to go potty a handful of times a day. Plus, I just went to the vet and my bloodwork was fabulous!!! I had a dental and a few extractions too; but it made me feel so much better'|now I'm even more energetic than when I first came into the rescue. My foster family thinks I would do best with a family who has other dogs because I have always been around a lot of dogs. If you're ready for pug royalty to join your household, please fill out an application for me as soon as you can because this princess is ready for her forever family! (Less)

Herbie was surrendered to us without a whole lot of information. We estimate that he's around 5 years old. We know that he is very loving and wants to be around us as much as possible. Maybe because he was abandoned, he doesn't like to be left alone. It shouldn't be too hard to convince him that he'll never be abandoned again. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-17-00112Mango (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi everyone - We are happy to introduce MANGO! Mango is a delightful 3 year old, 17 pound Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) girl. She loves to go for walks, she's great in the car, is potty trained, and knows how to use the doggie door too. She is super sweet and super SMART!. She knows several tricks including high five and if you have the time and are as smart as she is, she will be happy to learn more - very trainable. She really is an overall good girl, easy to care for and love. She's not a big barker and has no really annoying habits (unlike her foster mom - LOL ). Because of her size and age we would prefer no children 5 years or younger in her ... (Read More)forever home. She is currently living and doing great in a foster home with two other small female dogs and one of them is a bossy pug, but she'd prefer a forever home with no alpha girls'|they are just no fun to be around. She is very lovable and follows her foster mom around. She is attentive but not clingy or anxious. Just a great easy girl looking for a great forever home. She is up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and has no known health issues. Her adoption fee is only $375 and she currently staying in the Villages waiting on her forever home love match. If you think you could be Mango's love match, please apply today to adopt her. She is patiently waiting for you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-17-00109JoJo Bean (male)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

JoJo Bean is a sweet little 16 pound pug mix boy. He is super adorable and only 5 years old! He loves to run and play so he would prefer a fenced yard at his forever home if possible. He is the perfect balance between playful and snuggle. He is active but not hyper. He loves to get under the covers at night and snug up to his human - great bed buddy. He'd love an older child to run and play with but no children 5 or under please. He loves being next to his humans but he doesn't have separation anxiety. He is up-to-date on his vaccines and is neutered. His blood work and urine test were just done and he had no problems, so now he has ... Rescue Me ID: 17-04-17-00097Lucy (female)

Pug    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

This fabulous creature is Lucy and when you meet her, you will find yourself saying: 'I LOVE LUCY'! She is the official tail wagging door greeter here, super loving and attentive. It's hard to explain but she has an endearing, goofy way about her (very much like her name sake). She is 100 % potty trained and unlike most pugs I've fostered, Lucy will even go to the door to let you know she wants to go out! Did I say she was fabulous!! She loves walks, car rides, and doing anything else her human wants to do. She does fine with other dogs but she her own woman, not a pushover so no alpha girls in her forever home please. She ... (Read More)won't put up with that nonsense. She came to Pug Rescue of Florida via a shelter, where she was estimated to be about 7. She is always joyful and doesn't dwell on the bad times in her past, but she had a rough life before making it to PROoF. It was obvious that she had zero care and had been used to breed many puppies'|'|'| Lucy and I sure wish people would figure out how badly most dogs are treated that produce all those puppies people just have to have. Anyway, those awful days are behind her now. She's doing and feeling great now, but when she arrived she did have to have an emergency spay due to a life threatening uterus infection and she had a horrible bladder infection too (again'|from lack of care on the part of the nasty breeder). While she was under to be spayed, we also did her dental, so that is done. Of course she is up-to-date on vaccines too. Her skin was infected and she had lots of hair loss when she arrived, but her hair has grown back in. Now she is a beautiful as she feels. Like lots of pugs, she has dry eye, and due to the past neglect it has caused her some loss of vision but she does see and gets around great. She will need to stay on the tacrolimus eye drops for the rest of her life. Not a biggie for any pug lover and certainly a small price to pay for this much love. I pay $28 for a 15 ml bottle and it last about 30-45 days. Surprisingly the shelter that had her did not test her for heartworms before releasing her but of course the breeder didn't give her any heartworm preventative either, so she does have heartworms. We are currently treating her with the slow kill method and she is doing great. Now all she needs is the loving forever home she deserves. I can tell you this much, this big girl with her bulldog jowls has stolen my heart. She is a jewel of a pug and will bring someone lucky family lots of laughter and love for all of her days. If you think you can provide Lucy the home she needs and deserves, please apply today to adopt her. I would keep her in a minute if I didn't already have too many. Her adoption fee is only $250. She is currently fostered in the Villages, FL while awaiting her love match. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-17-00076Benji and Jessi (male)

Pug Mix    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi everyone - we would love to introduce Benji and Jessi, brother and sister Chugs (Chihuahua/pig mixes)! Benji (Fawn Male) and Jessi (Black/gray female) are 13 year old chugs that came into rescue when their family fell on some difficult times and were unable to provide proper care for them anymore. They are both deaf and Benji mostly sees just shadows. They are bonded brother and sister and have been together their whole lives so will need to stay together. Since they came into rescue PROoF has brought them up to date on all their vaccines and they have had a dental cleaning and only a couple of teeth needed to be removed on each. Benji ... (Read More)needs some eye drops and thyroid medication daily and Jessi is on heart medication for a minor issue. They are both on the small side - Benji is 17 pounds and Jessi is just 15 pounds. They are SUPER sweet and Benji loves to snuggle on the couch with his foster Mom. They are in a foster home with several small dogs and one medium sized dog and they do just fine with everyone. They are even fine with cats - Benji was curious about the cat in the home they were in while being vetted, but not aggressive toward her. This very special pair of chugs will bring double the love to their forever family! They just need a family that will welcome them both so they can stay together. If you have a special place in your home for these adorable senior chugs, please complete the PROoF adoption application today. Their adoption fee is just $150 for the pair. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-08-00288Annie Rose (female)

Pug    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Cancer

[Read About Natural Cancer Care] This little darling is Annie Rose. Annie Rose and her foster mom are looking for a true Pug Rescuer to give her the home she needs and deserves. She came to rescue when her human momma died. I'm sure her owner thought she loved Annie but sadly she came to us skin and bones; rotting teeth; anemic from being covered in fleas; numerous mammary gland tumors, infected ears and had obviously been used to produce puppies. Worst of all, she has a mast cell cancer on her front leg that is not in a location where it will be difficult to impossible to remove. She is eating great and has gained 2 pounds since arriving ... (Read More)in Rescue. She is a funny little quirky pug girl, and at this point does not act sick at all. She will go in her crate when you have to be gone (short periods only please) but when you are home, she loves to be in eye shot of her chosen human. She is currently her foster mom's shadow and sleeps on foster mom's pillow at night. Since her foster mom already has too many pugs, Annie Rose needs to find a forever person to claim and shadow. She needs someone to love her and keep her safe for the rest of her days. She is possessive of her toys when it comes to other dogs (especially her pug egg and her lamb lamb), so it would be best for her to be an only dog or a passive dog that doesn't care about toys. She cannot go to a home with another pushy female dog. Annie Rose doesn't really care about the other dogs anyway'|just her human. The rescue is currently getting advice on what will be the best course of action for Annie Rose. We are for a loving Pug Rescuer to step up and work together with us to help her have the best life she can have. She is a happy little thing. So, if you think you could provide a loving home for her, please apply to adopt her today and together we will figure out a plan for her. She is fostered in the Villages. They are making sure that she lives the dignified and comfortable life that she so richly deserves in her golden years! With age, she has occasional accidents in the house, but usually tries to let you know first. In my past life guys were not nice to me so I don't like them. I rather be in a home where with females and kids (if there are any) but no men. When one of the other dogs takes my ... (Read More)food, I just go away. I won't fight with them. I am just a happy 7 year old boy that is a Pug/Cocker Spaniel mix . I am fully vaccinated, and have no known health issues. Life is good since I came to PROof and all I need now is a place to call my home forever. Would you like me to join you? (Less)

Yes, if you are wondering I am housebroken. I may have an accident if i cant find my way outside though. My Foster Mom put down some mats for me so I know when I ...     URGENT - FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED ASAP. PLEASE HELP Are you a homebody looking for a new Best Friend? Someone to keep you company and just love you for who you are. Someone that would like to go with you on walks and would enjoy keeping the squirrels out of your yard, well have we got the boy for you! Brownie came into rescue when his owner died. He loves his humans and will be your best buddy all day every day. He is hard to take a selfie with though because he won't stop giving you kisses. Like any good friend should, he will encourage you to get out and get healthier by taking more walks on nice days. He enjoys playing with his ... (Read More)toys on his own but also loves you to throw them for him or play tug of war. He has never had a sick day in his life, is fully vetted and 100% potty trained. You couldn't ask for a better dog buddy. Because only one of his parents was a pug he has a longer nose which is a good thing, no breathing issues! He sees great! Hears great! Plays like a youngster, skin is great! Did we mention he IS GREAT!!!! We think he is a Jack Russell Terrier/Pug mix but whatever he is, he is a good boy and going to make one lucky family a great companion. He is 9 going on 5 and will have no trouble keeping up with you or laying on the couch watching TV if you prefer. He weighs a healthy 29 pounds. Brownie is OK with some dogs but would do best as an only dog. He grew up an only dog and will growl or nip at some dogs because he doesn't know what to do with them. He is toy aggressive to other dogs and food aggressive. He seems to like all humans that he gets to know but because of his fear of strangers and his food aggression, we are looking for a quiet home for him with no small children and no cats (cats look like squirrels to him, not a good thing for the cat). He loves walks but he is scared of car rides, he just sits and shakes. It takes him a while to feel comfortable in new situations so we think someone who has a work-from-home type job would be great because when he goes to a new place Brownie has separation anxiety. He eventually adjusts but as we have seen it take time, patience, love, and understanding to help him settle in. He has spent almost 2 years with us here at Pug Rescue so that is why we have so much information to share about him and why we can be so specific about the type of home environment that would be best for him. His foster family loves him but they are retiring and leaving to travel and, well as we've said, Brownie does NOT like the car. So we REALLY want to help this little guy finally find his FOREVER HOME ASAP! He has been through changes, learned to adjust, and we hope he can make one more change to a great forever home that will love him and give him all of the love and attention he deserves, because we know he will give all of that right back to his new family. He is currently being fostered in the Villages (and Brandon) and his adoption fee is ONLY $100. If you are Brownie's love match, please contact us ASAP to learn more about this wonderful guy. Details Date: August 26, 2016 Age: 9 Going On 5! Sex: Male Weight: 29 pounds Breed: Pug/Jack Russell Terrier Mix Color: Gold and WHIte Fee: Adoption Fee is waived the month of March 2017 to approved home! Otherwise, it is $100 Favorite things: Walks with his human and playing with his toys! Location: The Villages Status: Adoptable Complete an adoption application here. If you love me but can't adopt me, please send a donation to help pay medical bills for not just me but my fellow foster brothers and sisters. They sure could use it! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-06-00111Abby (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Abby is a beautiful 6 year old 28 pound puggle girl who is very sweet and loving. Her favorite things to do are: going for walks and car rides, trying to catch lizards she hears in the yard, jumping on the couch for a snooze and most of all cuddling with her humans. In fact if it were up to Abby she would be cuddled up either next to you or by your feet 24/7. Abby is 100% house trained and even scratches at the door when she needs to go out. She enjoys laying in her foster mom's enclosed yard listening to the world go by when the weather is right. She will do best as an only dog in a quiet home with a fenced yard or a walled courtyard ... (Read More)(like her foster mom has). Other dogs startle her sometimes and she is food aggressive to other dogs (not humans), so being an only dog with a loving human would be ideal for Abby. She is not a big barker or digger and no separation anxiety here. She happily sleeps in her dog bed at night and when you are gone. Oh yes, almost forgot, Abby went blind about a year ago. But she doesn't feel sad about it. She has a great live and has a lot of love to give. She just needs a loving human that feels the same way that she does about it. She gets around amazingly well, with her wonderful hearing and great sense of smell. She even navigates the few steps in her foster home. Please open your heart and your home to this fabulous puggle girl. You will be happy you did. She is fostered in The Villages and her adoption fee is only $225.00 (Less)

He loves to go for long walks. He get along with other dogs and according to the past owner, gets along with cats also. He is very mellow and is happy to just be alone.     200This little one thinks he's some kind of U.S.Marine.... really... he struts around like a trooper on a mission. He weighs 11 lbs, was an unclaimed stray, is heartworm negative, is fine with the other dogs, not sure on cat issues, and because of his size, we suggest no small children. He's quite clean in his small area so might be housetrained. He can get out of any enclosure - fences are no issue at all to him. We think he may have a drab of pug in his background because of his cute puggie face. Totally vetted, His adoption fee is $200

Pug Mix

Health: Neutered

Wendell and Chewy are a bonded pair that were pulled from Animal Control after their owner passed away. Wendell is an adorable black and white Chihuahua and his bestie Chewy is a Chug (Chihuahua / Pug mix). Both are senior boys approximately 12 years of age. These boys get along with other dogs, cats, and kids. They love to cuddle and are very well behaved. Wendell currently uses a belly band but it is possible that once he is back in a home and feels secure this will not be necessary. They are both neutered, up to date on shots and have recently had a dental done. Senior dogs have many years of love and devotion to give to a family if just ... (Read More)given the chance.
