Rescue Me ID: 17-12-07-00017Huckleberry (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Mange (Demodectic)

Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Huckleberry, one delightful, kind-hearted, snaggletoothed pup in need of a loving home! This unique and charming fellow was rescued from an animal control facility in KY. He had come in as part of a hoarding case. Pal's Place saw his handsome mug and knew we had to help him! Huckleberry looks a little rough in his photos, but he is gaining weight and looking better every day! Huckleberry was also diagnosed with Demodex. A non-contagious skin condition that is actually quite common in young dogs, especially ones rescued from stressful situations like Huck was. Fortunately, dogs generally recover from ... (Read More)demodex easily and Huckleberry is already looking better since his treatment. Now it's just a matter of time before his skin clears up and his coat comes back in full. He is estimated to be around 10 months old and is just about 30 pounds. We are not expecting him to grow too much larger, so he'll be a great medium size.We really have no idea what breeds make up his heritage, but with his endearing underbite and round head, we think there might be some Pug in him. We don't know what breeds are in his background, but we do know he is 1000 % adorable! Despite not having the best start in life, Huck has a great attitude! He is very affectionate and sweet and loves cuddles and kisses! He's quiet and mild-mannered and is thriving in his foster home. He is crate train and doing excellent with his house training when kept on a consistent schedule. Huck also does well with other dogs. Huckleberry is wishing for a forever home for the holidays. Could it be yours!? He is currently being cared for in a foster home in Chicago can be seen by appointment once an application has been received and approved. Rescue Me ID: 17-09-05-00121Sweet Helen (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Miss Helen Crump came to town with her pal Andy, Sheriff Andy, btw. They had lived in a little place, not quite Mayberry, but it was a small apartment with a population of about 30 dogs(that is not including people). So it was a close knit community but perhaps a bit to crowded according to city ordinance. A number of the resident dogs had to be relocated to begin their own lives outside of that little world. We took in 5 of those dogs, and 4 have been adopted. Sweet Helen is just a little more reserved and just not that comfortable meeting new people. She is just shy, not a mean bone in her body, just fearful. Helen is looking for a very ... (Read More)special family that will give her a chance to settle in, get to know you and then fall in love, it takes time. For her foster family she is happy, outgoing, engaging, silly....everything. But it took a few days with us as well. She deserves a chance, for goodness sake--look how cute she is!!! Helen is about 2 years old, is very quiet and sweet, loving but also playful and silly!
