Rescue Me ID: 18-04-29-00162Legion (male)

Pug Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Legion. He's a sturdy 43 pound male Beagle / Lo-sze Pugg mix. He is just over a year old. Legion is a very special dog. He's a hero. He woke his family up in time to escape their burning house. Unfortunately, the house was destroyed and they couldn't take him where they had to go. He spent some time in an over-filled shelter and his time was almost up when he came to us. He was very sad and scared, but he's doing much better now. Legion is a very loving dog. He just wants to be near us and make sure we are safe. One of his favorite things to do is cuddle with us, with his head on our lap, or touching us with his paw. He was ... (Read More)a little shy when we first rescued him, however he soon acclimated to our house. Legion loves to run and play with our two dogs, chase after balls (and usually bring them back), sit and pull the stuffing out of his toys, or just make them repeatedly squeak. He is good with children (he came from a family with kids who loved him) and adults, once he gets comfortable with you. He is curious about cats, but they don't seem to share his interest. He's OK on a leash, but does pull. He understands 'sit', 'come', 'off' and 'leave it'. However, doesn't always react immediately. He needs additional training classes to help him with these skills and to help reduce his anxiety in meeting new people. Legion is ready to settle down with his forever family. He needs a home with daily cuddling on the couch/bed and a fenced in yard. He is crate trained for short periods. However, he has trouble relaxing when his people aren't there, so he needs a home where he won't be left alone for long periods of time. He would do best in a home with another dog so that he is never completely alone. The family that adopts Legion will be getting a happy, energetic, and loyal family member. He still has problems with crowds, and small children. We would keep him ourselves if we didn't already have a full house. We are going to miss him very much, but we know that he will be going to a wonderful new home, and be very happy with his new family. If you think you might be the one(s) for him, please visit our website at and fill out an application. Legion is being fostered in a home. Appointments to visit him will be set up for approved adopters only. Adoption fee is $275, he is current on all vaccines, microchipped and neutered. His adoptive family will be required to attend training classes with him. Local Adopters Only Please. (Less)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed

Who knew that Chewbacca had a tiny little sister?? Knock me over with a feather! This little imp looks a bit like her big 'brother'and naturally they speak the same language. Becca does that same little high pitch sort of purr noise. Typically that cute little sound comes out of this wee imp when she is grumbling at someone! She may be tiny but she does on occasion consider her self a force to be reckoned with-like many small dogs. Becca came from an apartment that had over 30 dogs, small dogs of all sorts of breeds and mixed pretty well to create some quite unique pups! She appears to be a Pom, has the pug coloring and more of a snub nose ... (Read More)than the particular chihuahua or pom face, but it is actually a guess, we cannot guarantee her breeds. The first day here she did not want to be held but has quickly come around and has gotten more engaging and social. She will sit on our laps but then 'purr' when she wants down, it is on her terms-lol. Becca really is an adorable little girl but needs an experienced and patient family, no small kids please. She was first estimated at 8 years old, but could be between 5-8 years. She is around 10 stocky pounds, she could lose a little, she obviously has been accustomed to table food so we are working on that. Becca loves being around other dogs, enjoys strolling in the yard and a nice nap in the sun. They had been potty pad trained but she has been doing well going potty outside and will need a family to continue reinforcing that behavior. Becca's adoption fee is $225-now 10% off plus a free bounty of supplies and treats worth over $200! please email Kristine at (Less)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

*MUST LIVE IN 50-MILE RADIUS OF ITASCA (A SUBUR OF CHICAGO) WITHIN THE ILLINOIS BORDER TO ADOPT, NO EXCEPTIONS!* Ciao! My name is Romo, and I am a super handsome, super sweet little fellow who is looking for a forever home through Fetching Tails Foundation! Could that be with you? I am a 5-year-old chihuahua/pug mix, and at 15 pounds I am the perfect size to snuggle up next to you for long cuddle sessions. I must say, I am quite the looker: I have lovely light tan fur, and my silly little underbite will keep you laughing every time I smile! My friends from Fetching Tails saved me from Chicago Animal Care & Control, where my previous ... (Read More)owners brought me when they could no longer take care of me. I am a happy-go-lucky guy and am loving all the attention I get in my foster home! I love attention and affection, and am happiest with my favorite people by my side. I have a well-balanced energy level and enjoy both playtime (I love a good game of fetch!) and snuggle time. But my most favorite activity in the world is going for a nice long walk with foster mommy so I can explore the world and leave my mark on every tree and fire hydrant! I get along with other pups, though I prefer little doggies like me, and I even currently live with kitty cats. I am very curious about them, but we mostly get along. My favorite roommates, though, are the human kiddos in the house. I would choose to hang out with them over anyone else! I just love being around them so much, so I would do great in a forever home with children. I have pretty good house manners, too, and am learning more all the time! I am crate trained and potty trained. I know to do my business outside, but I might occasionally try to mark inside. When I try it, my foster parents redirect my attention; with continued practice and patience in my forever home, I will get over this little habit! I am comfortable resting in my crate while my foster family is at work, but would prefer for someone to be home more often than not because I just love attention so much and am much happier being by your side! I will even tap you on the arm with my paw if it is time for a petting break. Isn't that adorable? If you think I could be the cute, loyal, loving dude for you, please get in touch with my Fetching Tails friends soon so we can start our happily ever after together! Kisses and cuddles, Romo ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS: *ADOPTION FEE: $250 *Be at least 21 years of age *Live in a 50-mile radius of Itasca, within the Illinois border *Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household *Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease) *Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date) *Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation *Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment If interested please fill out an application on our website at; please make sure you fill in every required field/question or your submission will not go through.
