Rescue Me ID: 17-06-15-00396Jelly Belly (male)
Say hi to Jelly Belly! He is a 3 yr 30 lb Pug Boston terrier mix. He is a very sweet boy and loves to be with his humans. He does very well with the other dogs in his foster home. He is crate trained and is working on his house training and is making good progress with very few accidents. Jelly likes to go on walks and walks very well on a leash. He is also quite content snuggling up for some down time. Jelly is also working on improving his manners and is very quick learner and loves getting attention from his humans. Do you have room in your life to give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves? This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks' recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH's heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics#q12 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-04-00274Austin (male)
COURTESY POSTING. This is Austin, aka Austin-dog, little boy, little guy, pupper. Austins favorite thing to do ( And I mean he will do it all day!!! ) is chase a ball. He's a typical pug and loves to have his mind occupied. He will bring that ball back to you and put it in your hand and get ready for the next chase with a wagging tail. He loves walks but doesn't know what leash manners are. His current owner has him on a harness. He currently lives with a similar dog his size which seems to work out fine. But the larger dog he seems to have an issue with. Austin displays some guarding issues with his toys, so bases on that I would say no small children in the home. He also likes to chew them to pieces which has ended him up in the vets office. My advice is get yourself a nice kong and have him focus his chewing on a treat inside that. He is definitely a loving, goofy dog though who has made us laugh every day. He likes to pull himself across the carpet ('army crawl') while at the same time having his back scratched. He LOVES scratches! Back, belly, neck, he'll take them all! Austin should be in an active him with people who will kee him occupied and enhance his life with some training and structure. His current family have a new baby coming and they are worried because of the aggression his has displayed towards the larger dog so they are rehoming him. They asked us to help them place him or they will have to take him to a shelter. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-11-00513Chewbacca(chewy) (male)
Chewbacca is young and energetic. He does wonderfully with children and other dogs. He is vocal when walking outside. He is in extreme need of room to run. Preferably a home with a large yard or a farm. He does enjoy herding (the shepherd in him) and learns commands very quickly. We have recently been teaching him sign language for sit and lay down. He is a huge cuddle bug, and loves women especially. He is potty trained and crate trained. His birthday is January 4th 2016.

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-08-00520Ariel (female)
This little cutie is chug Ariel. She's 2 years, 8 pounds of energetic love. Ariel can be quite shy at first, then devoted to her person, loves closeness. Ariel prefers women, came from a home where her elderly lady owner passed. Ariel gets along with the other dogs in her foster home, but prefers the company of her humans. If you have time and TLC for Ariel, she'll be your best friend. The effort will be worth it with this little doll! Ariel's adoption fee is $325 to help rescue. Please reach out and/or submit an application to adopt at http://www.almosthomerescue.org/onlineforms/adoptform.htm. Some sections are specific to the dachshund breed. Please answer those as you would about any small dog. (Less)
Rescue Me ID: 17-05-01-00106Dude (male)
Dude is a 1 year old Puggle (turned one in February). We have had him since he was 3 months old. Unfortunately he is not a good fit for our family. He is very aggressive with our cats who have now been forced to live in one bedroom and is not a good fit with the kids though they are in love with him :( I am heartbroken, but I think he would be better in an adult only household. He needs a lot of attention. He has gone through training and knows sit and down and will walk on a leash well (unless it is a busy street, he is a car chaser). He is litter trained :) He will go outside as well but is fully litter trained and a box will be included. He is not very fond of people in general, but is great with me and my husband. If you are willing to give him lots of attention and have a fenced yard I think he will become a great pet in an adult only household. He is about 25 lbs, fixed, micro chipped and up to date on all shots. This is a very hard decision and I will want to meet a few times to make sure it is a good fit. (Less)
