Rescue Me ID: 14-10-25-00405Obie (male)

Pug    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind, Deaf

Meet Obie: a senior pug looking for a soft pillow to retire on. Obie was abandoned in very poor condition at a high volume shelter, and was pulled by Boomer's Angels when he appeared on the Urgent list and was to be destroyed. Obie was badly neglected, and like a lot of pugs, he does have severe dry eye which had been left untreated for some time. Unfortunately he is now mostly blind, but his condition is easily treated with daily eye drops available over the counter. He also had some small masses removed, and does have arthritis like many old folks, but takes a daily chewable tablet to make him more comfortable. He also is mostly deaf. The ... (Read More)nice folks at Boomer's Angels got him all fixed up, and now he is looking for love. Obie doesn't let his blindness stop him, he has memorized the floor plan, and can easily get in/out of his crate and out into the yard. He gets along with dogs/cats/people, but due to his blindness/deafness, he can be a little grumpy if startled, so he would do best in a home with adults or older children. He also would do best in In home with very few stairs. Please consider adopting Obie so he can spend the rest of his days in comfort, love and peace. (Less)
