Rescue Me ID: 17-01-17-00302Susie (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Susie is a timid, gentle girl, whose sad start in life was as a breeding dog. She did not benefit from interaction with people, so she is very fearful and only now starting to enjoy human touch. After being rescued, she spent 6 months in a kennel without receiving very much attention or exposure to potential homes. She was completely overlooked by everyone other than the volunteers, who could only spend a short time with her. Now, she is in foster care and is being trained to trust people for the first time in her life. She has come a long way in only a month and likes to cuddle up on the sofa or in bed. She has quickly learnt to use a wee ... (Read More)wee pad and knows when you want her sit on the sofa or in bed with you. She runs right to the sofa or bed and waits for a treat and a cuddle. Right now, she is more comfortable inside than outside and is learning to walk on a leash. Susie would make a wonderful apartment dog but she loves to romp and run with other dogs. Susie will need an experienced dog owner, with patience and compassion. In time, we believe she will relax and enjoy being loved and a part of your life. The worried look on her little face will disappear in time, though we think she will always be shy with strangers. '۬ She gets on very well with all other drogs and is fine with cats. She loves toys and treats and especially her cozy beds. '۬'۬It is preferable that Susie goes to a home with a fenced yard so she can run and play or she needs a family willing to walk her on leash. Rescue Me ID: 16-11-30-00224Tilly (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Tilly! She is new to rescue and approx. 8months old. Tilly is VERY SHY AND TIMID!!! She was found as a stray and had been out for quite some time. She is very scared right now, but has improved leaps and bounds in her foster home. She is playing with toys, using potty pads to go to the bathroom, eating well, sleeping in bed with her foster family, and getting along well with her foster pug siblings. Tilly still has a long ways to go, she does not know yet how to walk on a leash, is still learning about the back yard, and what to do out there. Tilly is the sweetest girl and loves to be warm and cuddle, she loves to curl up in ... (Read More)beds, or on the couch. She has just recently started to play with her foster siblings! Tilly needs to learn what being a pup is all about. Till will do best in a house without small children, and with at least 1 othe dog to learn from. Her family will need to have patience and dedication to be willing to help her overcome her fears and work with her on a regular basis. She has come so far so quickly we fully believe she will be a wonderful pup, and a great addition to the right family! Rescue Me ID: 16-11-30-00210Jenkins (male)

Pug    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Jenkins! Jenkins is a new senior pug in the rescue. He was found stray and came through a shelter. He is temporarily fostered in Richmond, Va while he gets his medical needs met but once he is healthier, he will be moved to his real foster home. Jenkins could use some positive vibes to help him get healthier. He came in with pneumonia and may have some underlying lung issues. He is mostly blind and deaf and his teeth are in terrible shape. We need to tackle the pneumonia first and for at least a week he is being quarantined from other dogs and we are trying to keep him relaxed and quiet...which is tough for a blind/deaf dog who is in a ... (Read More)brand new environment. He is on a lot of medication and if he can kick this pneumonia, we can start tackling his other issues. He is heartworm negative (great news!) and most of his bloodwork is good, although there are some thing we are going to keep an eye on. He is cryptorchid so his neuter will be more complicated than others as well. While he does have a lot going on...he is still a spunky guy. He likes leash walks, although walking in a straight line seems to be a challenge...he prefers to wander in whatever direction he chooses. He didn't seem to understand a dog bed at first and would lay on the floor and just put his chin in the bed but after a few days, he started to catch on!     Frankie is 3 years old. He has juvenile onset cataracts that are very bad. He can see light and dark but he often miss steps, falls and bumps into things. He has hearing issues from possible untreated ear infections. He has some significant allergies that are not responding to antihistamines. Frankie likes all the attention and because of his poor eyesight and hearing often does not hear or see the cues from other dogs. They get frustrated with him and grown and fight but Frankie is very passive and usually will not fight back. Frankie was used as a stud and kept caged or outside. He is NOT housebroken. He does not like to go outside so I ... (Read More)think this is an issue. He is very very loving, sweet, comical and precious friend. We rescued him from the breeder and I hoped that I could help him but Frankie need a financially stable home and I am sorry to say that I am not at this time and even though he has completely stole my heart, I cannot care for him properly.
