Rescue Me ID: 16-04-27-00225Melvin (male)
Melvin is a pug who came to us from a shelter. We know nothing about his previous life. He is approximately 6 years old. He has a very big curve to his spine and really bad elbows and knees. There is not a surgical intervention that can be done but he will need both injectable and oral joint supplements on-going. He is going to begin swim therapy to see if that helps with his muscle atrophy and helps him to build up some more strength/stability. He is pretty much housetrained, sweet, and loving. He likes other dogs and cats and likes the yard. He will not be allowed to do large flights of stairs. 1-3 stairs would be okay but more than that, he can't keep his balance and could easily injure himself. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-11-00257Zeb (male)
I'm looking for a home for my dachshund mix. (Pug we believe) we decided to get a dog and when we went to pick up his brother we came home with him as well. We were told he had bladder issues as a puppy and surgery to remove stones. We were told he had scar tissue from the surgery which causes him to crouch to pee even when he's done. He does dribble in the house sometimes but is house trained so he will let you know when he needs to go out. he dribbles when he's excited been home alone awhile and needs to go out really bad and sometimes in the mornings before I get him outside. He hasn't pooped inside at all. We were planning on keeping him so we took his brother to the vet and was going to take him next paycheck but with sick kids car issues and my child's birthday we have not had the extra money or time. So he will need his shots. I have talked to the vet and explained his issues and she said if he had the surgery he needs to be on a RX diet that prevents new stones and dissolves new one but it was $40 for 7.7 pounds and I can't afford that with two kids a dog and a cat so I must rehome my Zeb. We have became so attached to him as he has to us and it breaks my heart but it's what's best for him. Even though I want to be selfish and keep him I can not do that to him. He is such a sweet well behaved little guy. He is fine with my cat when alone but when he's with his brother he will chase her I think to show off in front of his brother lol. He is great with kids he wakes my two up every morning and gets so happy when they get home from school. He will come with his tennis ball which he loves and his kong. Also a brush and his crate. We have been giving him organic ACV in his water which does help but he needs a home who can afford him his cars and his food. He loves car rides cuddling sleeping in my bed his ball his kong and small stuffed animals. He is truly the sweetest dog ever. I prefer him to go to a home with children but as long as he gets spoiled lots of attention and isn't home alone 24/7 and goes to someone who can afford him it's not a must. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-10-00433daisy (female)
Daisy is an 11 year old pug who was an owner surrender. She is on a medical hold and is actually boarding at the vet's office for a couple weeks. She came in with ear, eye and joint problems according to her former owner but in addition to that, we have discovered that she has some serious gall bladder issues and hormone issues. We will be addressing ALL of these issues and get her on a good path towards feeling her best. In the meantime, we could use YOUR support to help cover the cost of her medical issues. If you are interested in learning more about daisy or adopting please visit our website.
Rescue Me ID: 16-03-12-00499Frankie (male)
Frankie is a very sweet, friendly, affectionate dog with tons of energy. I've had Frankie since he was 2 months old and he will be 2 years old in late June. Frankie struggles with separation anxiety, and it's something I haven't been able to counteract despite training. Because of this I've realized that Frankie needs more attention than I am able to give to him since I work all day. I really would love to find Frankie a home with someone who is home the majority of the day/night (someone who works from home, someone who is retired but still very active since he is high energy, or a stay at home mom/dad). Frankie needs someone who is patient and someone who can be around him a lot so he feels at ease and he needs someone who has a fenced in yard so he can run around and release his energy. Someone with experience with separation anxiety would be a big plus. He loves kids and gets along great with other dogs. He loves to cuddle, play fetch and tug of war. He really is a great dog, but he needs more than what I can provide to him at this time. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-13-00297Wade (male)
Wade is a pug mix who came to the rescue through a shelter. He was found stray and probably was stray for quite some time. After evaluating his eyes, teeth, etc, our veterinarian estimates that he is 10 years old. When he came into the shelter he had a severe flea infectation. The fleas were eliminated but he had significant fur loss as a result. He also needed a dental to fix some teeth and clean them up. After a few weeks of medications, his hair has returned and he has almost completed all of his medical treatments! He is heartworm negative, current on vaccines, current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, microchipped and will soon be ready for his forever family! Wade was stray for a long time and looks like he was never very well socialized. He has had to learn to accept affection appropriately and how to be a house pet. He started out fearful of attention and care. At this point, he lets his foster mom pick him up, carry him around, pet him, give him kisses, trim his nails, etc! When he does find that perfect home, they are going to need to be patient with him as it can take a little while for him to settle in and trust his new family. He is fine with cats and is okay with other small dogs. He doesn't want to snuggle or play with them but if the dog is mellow, he is fine with them. He does not like very active or playful dogs. He is mostly housetrained as long as he is kept on his schedule and he eats a regular diet. He loves a good nap and has several beds that he has made all his own and can almost always be found snuggled in either sleeping or observing what is going on around him. The ideal home for Wade right now would be a home either no other pets, or very mellow pets and if there are children, they need to be old enough to understand the right way to pick up and hold Wade. He needs a family who is willing to give him the time it takes to adjust to a new environment. He really is a sweetheart and will make any family very happy! |Rescue Me ID: 15-12-13-00487Little Bit (male)|
Little Bit is an 8-9 year old chi/pug mix who loves to be cuddled. He has lived with 2 cats and another dog (Sparky- pomeranian, listed as well) and would love to go to the same home as Sparky but can adopted separately. He is healthy, fully vetted and was neutered as a pup. He has never bitten anyone and has only snapped at a small child when the child pulled his tail! He is very social and gets along well with other dogs and cats.
