Rescue Me ID: 14-09-21-00338Dakota (male)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered

This little guy is Dakota. He is a 2 year old pug/chi mix who was an owner surrender. Dakota came in with his sister who has since been adopted and now it's Dakotas turn to find his forever home. Dakota, though small has a huge personality and makes adorable sounds. He is very expressive in his face, and vocally. If you are looking for a goofy guy to be your constant companion, he is perfect! He loves people (including children) and is very food motivated. He wants to be by your side, cuddling with you under the covers or on your lap all the time. He loves giving kisses! Dakota is a very submissive easy going guy and although he is a little ... (Read More)bit nervous he has never been aggressive. Every day he is in foster care he comes out of his shell a bit more. Currently Dakota is living in a foster home with a Great Dane and a Beagle and doing very well with them. He has also been around a lab, and some additional small dogs, who played well with him. He does not really enjoy the dog park, because he would rather be hanging out with his person. He loves the company of other dogs, but doesn't really 'play.' He met the resident dog savvy cat and barked at him a bit, but didn't chase and was not aggressive what so ever. Slightly scared of him in fact. He was initially afraid of car rides, but has slowly been warming up to the idea. Now he just cuddles up in the back and falls asleep. He loves hiking and sniffing around in unfamiliar areas. He walks well on leash, isn't 'puller' and did well off leash when we tried it because he wants to be near you. He knows, and responds to his name. He is coming along with potty training and has only had one potty accident in his foster home so far (knock on wood.) Dakota is kennel trained, and not destructive though he does love to have toys to chew on. He gets along well with kids of all ages, and is learning 'off' 'come' and 'sit.' Rescue Me ID: 14-09-09-00686Missy (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Little 7lb Miss Missy!! She's an adorable, affectionate little 5yr old girl... and she's also completely blind. We don't know why she no longer has her sight at this young age, but it does not affect her in the least! Her eyes look normal. She's a confident girl that loves to go outside and roll in the grass, or play with one of the other small dogs. When inside it doesn't take her long to remember routes and locations of various things... like the water bowl and the cushy beds laying about. She'll also wiggle and wag her way to you as you call her so she can cuddle on your lap. She's fully crate trained and although she'd much prefer ... (Read More)to sleep near you, she's also content to take a nap in her crate if she needs to be left alone for any length of time. She'll thrive in a home that allows her to continue being a confident girl.. but of course, with lots of 'carrying around' too! She's also learning to walk on a leash so she can continue to explore with her nose. She should have a home that can spend lots of time with her and will not leave her for more than 4hrs each day. Missy is really a very special little gem and she deserves a special home. (Less)
