Rescue Me ID: 15-05-21-00590Falkor (male)

Pug Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Looking for a new home for my 1 year old male Pug/Pekingese, born on October 4th, 2013. He is crate trained, however, I trained him with a big crate so when he gets in a travel carrier he will bark and whine but he does calm down after a bit. He also likes to follow me everywhere if he can and if there are no distractions. He is neutered. I was told his personality sounds more like a pekingese than a pug. The people we got him from only had two pugs, the father was white and the mother was fawn colored. They said they have no idea how he got long hair. Of course the probable cause would be a pekingese mix somewhere down the genetic line, but ... (Read More)his parents both looked like pugs Falkor needs a home with someone who has a lot of time and patience for him as he has some bad habits. I cannot rehome him to a home with young children because he has lots of energy and jumps a lot. I would prefer someone who knows how to handle little dogs with behavioral issues He is very hyper, playful and loves attention, he is potty trained, and listens very well with treats.. being a pug he LOVES food. He loves to fetch toys when you throw it and he will bring it back to you. He has only been around my Rottweiler so not very much socialization with other dogs. He has met a couple other dogs and did pretty well with them. I believe he will do great with another dog who is playful and won't react too badly if Falkor is playing too much. He is ok with cats, when he sees one he isn't familiar with he will want to play with it but usually ends up chasing them away since the cats here don't enjoy his playstyle. He has been around my cat since I got him but he doesn't try chasing her anymore. He barks a lot at new smells and people. One time I sprayed a room with fabreeze and he barked at the room from a distance for a few minutes before realizing there wasn't anyone new in there, it is really funny to watch. As for people, he will warm up to them given enough time and/or attention. He is a great watch dog Falkor's issues: - Pulls a lot while on a leash, but since he's small he can be walked without too much trouble. Since he pulls so much I think a harness (or any other gentle collar made for dogs that pull) would be better for walking instead of a normal collar - Jumps up on you a lot with nipping when he's playful, which for now is seemingly all the time. If he has a toy he won't nip unless he gets bored of it. - He hasn't been around many dogs so when he sees one sometimes he'll get overly excited, but only because he wants to play. He is very happy when he meets one face-to-face - He is prone to becoming food aggressive, but right now he is okay with being pet while eating. Depending on if he's eating something really tasty or not he might growl (or just eat it faster). When he did this to me (only happened once) I just gave him treats when my hands were close to or touching him and he quickly learned not to worry about me taking his food away. If I am giving my Rottie a treat in front of him he will get jealous, bark, and try to jump on her unless I show him I have a treat for him too. Because of that I am unsure how he will be eating near another dog Falkor knows sit, lie down, drop it, high five, and shake for those wondering. I've tried teaching him stay but he is so hyper it's hard to get him to listen to that command Falkor will go to his new home with his harness, leash, de-shedding type brush, his favorite toys, blanket, treats, and some of his food. Rehoming fee is $100. If you are interested or have any questions about Falkor feel free to reply :) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-23-00360Tera (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I am already spayed, house-trained, in need of an experienced dog owner, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs and not good with cats. Tera's Story... Tera is a sweet puggle/lab mix. She's about 11 months old and weighs about 40-45lbs. It was clear when we got her that she had not been socialized well as a puppy. Tara can only be with very mellow, neutral dogs, but no other dogs in the home is best. No dog park for this girl.
