Otis was adopted! Sadly, Otis's owner passed away. Our family couldn't save our brother, but with the help of Rescue Me and Pug Nation, we were able to save Otis!! Thank you! We got many responses from loving Pug people from the Rescue Me posting. They were directed to contact Pug Nation who graciously accepted and cared for Otis until the right home could be found. Then, a caring woman personally texted me that Otis was indeed adopted! We got to see a last photo of Otis with his new mom and pop and a pug sibling!

Sophia is a diabetic pug, as we all know special needs dogs are often times much harder to adopt out. Being a new rescue, we needed all the help getting the word out we could. We didn't have the ability to post on any other sites in the beginning because we didn't have our 501c3 yet (which we do now YAY!). Rescue Me has been so helpful in the search for Sophia's perfect family. The family that just adopted her found her on Rescue Me! Thanks so much for what you do!

My dear, kind and loving Albert was adopted to a beautiful home where I know he is loved beyond measure. I have told so many people about Rescue Me. It was a wonderful way to re-home your baby. We went through several different prospects before deciding on the perfect home. It also gives the people looking to adopt a chance to make sure it is the right fit for them. Rescue Me only asks for donations if you are so inclined to do so. What a fabulous organization. I hope I never have to do this again (heartbreaking to say goodbye) But if you do, remember Rescue Me. They are awesome!

I was contacted by Pug Rescue of Florida and they have arranged to take my dogs. I'm very thankful for the Rescue Me site and the help in finding a good home for my babies. I'm very sad to be losing them, but thankful that I know they are going to a good home. I wouldn't have been able to do that without Rescue Me.

I happen to be a long time rescuer, who due to my own physical disabilities, has had to limit myself on how many rescues I do anymore. I've been able to rescue three Pugs now through Rescue Me. I was given Padme by a non-English speaking family. Sadly, Padme has an issue with her tail being touched. She sounds like Godzilla when you touch it, but has NEVER bitten. She's a lover and truly does not want to hurt anyone, she just can't deal with the tail touching! She came from a couple with about an 18 month old baby and another on the way, it was tears all around when I got her, but she is just such a happy girl. My tears were incredibly short lived!! Next came a wonderful older gentleman, whose name was Tyson. He was unaltered, and fighting with the unaltered Pitbull that had recently come into the household. Sadly, he really needed to be an only dog, but I've developed quite a network of fellow Pug lovers and rescuers and was able to place him with a fellow rescuer, where he's the pampered royalty who actually has learned what 'Winter is Coming' really means! And he loves it! So this week, a beautiful older Pug came to your site, and I immediately jumped on the chance to get her. I've developed a crush on black Pugs, they're just a bit different than the fawn Pugs, more loyal to one person and I feel just a bit less stubborn (just my opinion, no proof of it), They also allow me to wear more black clothing, as Pugs only shed once a year... All 365 days of it!! Leyla is having a bit of separation anxiety. She loved her daddy very much, but he loved her enough to to find her a safe and happy home through Rescue Me. Due to circumstances completely beyond his control, he's had to give her up. She's safe and sound, and with me for the rest of her life. She's quite a chatty girl, full of snorts, whistles, grumbles and an occasional howl if she doesn't think things are just so. She's already fitting in just lovely with my two other girls, and I'm back to having a grumble of Pugs again! (A grumble is what a group of three or more Pugs is called. Very fitting!

I posted Frank the pug on Rescue Me Saturday afternoon from work. I had gotten the dog for my son, however, when my son came home, he wasn't ready to care for the dog. I had mixed emotions about selling the dog for fear that someone who didn't love dogs might buy him. Frank is a very sweet dog, and we have grown together, but since I never owned a dog myself before, now at 50, I was not prepared to clean up poop for the next 15 plus years. My work schedule is hectic, so Frank wasn't getting all the love and attention that I felt he needed. I got a phone call early Sunday morning from an interested party. She asked all the right questions that let me know that she was a dog lover, and a pug lover. Double bonus. She asked me to send additional pictures of Frank and told me about her own pug. From our conversation, I felt this would be a good fit. She drove three hours in the rain to get Frank. I gave her the whole kit and caboodle... His dog food, treats, kennel, retractable leash, seat belt leash, and harness, as I want Franks transition to be seamless. He liked her right away. I am going to mail her his shot records, and she is going to text me pictures of him on occasion. Thank you, Rescue Me! -Carmen

This is our second Rescue Me pug adoption. The first was from Pug Plantation, this one from a private individual. Monkey seems as though she will be a good fit for our old, blind, male pug, Tater. They are currently in 'ignore you' mode, but I think that will only improve with time. At least we have had no territorial disputes yet! Monkey has severe flea allergy and a luxating patella, both items that will be addressed by our vet tomorrow. She is tiny, and very hyper, but this is probably the first time she has been in a house, so we are just applying the tincture of time to this. We are just hoping that she and Tater becomes good friends soon!

I am so delighted that, through Rescue Me, our pug Toby has found a wonderful home in the UK. Not only will he be in a perfect environment there, out of the Spanish heat, which is tough for him, but also with other dogs as he is used to company and with an adopter who will give him a perfect, happy life. Thanks to Rescue Me, this has all come about very quickly and we have been able to organize his transport to UK asap. I was skeptical as to whether I would get any response from the site to begin with, but it has turned out to have been the perfect way to find the right home for Toby.

I rescued Cookie, a Pug/Chihuahua mix from her foster home. I was told by her foster mom that it'll take Cookie at least a week to get used to me and realize I'm not going to hurt her. Well, I'd like to say it took Cookie an hour and a half to accept me. Since she's accepted me, we've been inseparable. She enjoys her new home and is doing exceptionally well despite her horrible past. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Because of Rescue Me, Trigger has found a new and loving home. I just want to thank you for helping to make that possible, and to all others who were interested in him. He will be missed, that's for sure, but, I feel confident and assured he will have all the love and attention he deserves. I had him for almost 10 years and it was like adopting out one of my own. He will be missed, Thank you, Teri, for choosing him and Pat for coming so far to get him. I hope he brings you many more years of companionship and love like he has given me. Thank you, Little Man, I love you. Donna

Ty was adopted. I found Ty on Rescue Me. Ty was brought to me by owner as I don't drive. Stacee, the previous owner, put Ty up for adoption as he needed to be only pet. He is a lovable dog. He gets me outside to walk and enjoy outdoors. He gave me my first kiss within 24 hours. I have him set up for a new vet. He has already found a favorite spot on the couch. He came with his toys, but I have added to them. Ty will be loved. I am very happy with my adoption. Ty needed a new home, and I needed him to love and care for.

We were very surprised at the number of people who wanted to take on our Pug! Very happy that with his medical issues and age that he will be in the loving care with the rescuer. I will miss him dearly, but they said we can come anytime to visit. That is reassuring to me as I can't imagine never seeing him again. Thank you Rescue Me, for the ease of your site and giving a second chance to my Pug.

Our family travels out of country too much now, so I posted and a funny thing happened. A family wanted them and they just happen to be in the same city I will be visiting family this week. I will see their home and yard. The family lost their pug four months ago, and even have a tattoo of him.. Awe. Our Pugs will be absolutely adored by the family with one five year old and a stay at home parent. All will be happily ever after for Tyrone and Stella with their new family soon!!

Where I live, there isn't a pug rescue where you can adopt. I wanted my first dog to be a rescue! When I met Bohdi he was such a little sweet heart! I was so glad that our family was able to adopt him and give him a loving home. He isn't just our pet, he is a part of the family. I love Rescue Me's locating map that shows you where all the types of breeds you want that are in all the different states. As soon as there was a listing in my county, I checked to see if Bohdi was a good match, and he was! Thank you very much for helping me find this precious little doggy!

Wow! I must say Rescue Me was the fastest response I've ever experienced when posting an animal. I posted for a new home for a wonderful little dog who just showed up on our farm. He arrived in the morning during a thunderstorm and refused to leave. We tried diligently to find his home by placing posters and talking with our neighbors as well as posting on Facebook and Craigslist. After posting on Rescue Me in the morning, by that evening we had a perfect candidate for his new home. She drove an hour and a half to come get him and the response between her and the pug was great. We hope Pug will be very happy in his new home and we will check from time to time to be sure all is well. The pug is a great little dog, but he needed a house family to take him in and love him. I wish we could have adjusted our lifestyle to him, but it just wasn't meant to be. Thank you Jeff Gold for providing a safe solution for people who find themselves with an adorable little animal who just needs a new home.

Piggy, the Pug, found a furever home this afternoon. We received great referrals from Rescue Me and had a list of homes to choose from. Last I saw Piggy, he was already playing with his new sister pugs in his new home. He also has the added bonus that his new human dad is a butcher and sometimes gets to bring home treats. Believe me, I can highly recommend the Pug Rescue of New England. What a great resource as well as the Rescue Me site! Thank you all for your help, and Piggy really thanks you, too!

Within hours of posting of Kermit needing a home on the Rescue Me site, I received multiple calls from purebred rescue groups willing to foster him to people wanting to adopt. Two days later, he is in a new home. This is the second time I've used this site to help place dogs. I am a veterinarian and we've had an owner pass away and another dog needing a different home environment and they've both been successfully placed. This is a great site. -Dawn Bookmyer, DVM

Thank you so much, Rescue Me! I wrestled with how to go about finding a loving replacement Mom for little Zooey and happened upon the website. After spending some time reading other stories I decided to join. I posted her info and within a day received an email asking about her. Knowing that Catherine was already a pug Mom to Dozer made the decision to give her up so much more comforting. We met after the holiday and she and Dozer both greeted her and made Zooey feel so welcome. I look forward to posting additional pictures of her new family. I know my Zooey will have a great time living on the farm and taking in all those new smells! She surely will keep happy and full of bliss.

Rescue Me is wonderful. I posted my dog and had a call not too long after that. The woman came over and things went great, she even brought her pug to make sure they would be ok. They were, Hendrix jumped right into her truck. She is going to send me pictures. She is a wonderful lady and I know my dog has gone to an amazing place where he will be loved as much as we loved him. It was a hard thing to do, but I am sick and it was too hard on me. He is 3 and he needs more than I could give him. He is in a good home.

Rescue Me helped me find the perfect Fur Baby for my family. My husband is off work due to injury, and having Lucy as a companion has cheered him up so much! She is a joy to have around, and is a very good girl. Her Foster Dad did a fantastic job with her. People that meet her now can't believe she was in a puppy mill just two short months ago. The adoption process went smoothly, and everyone I dealt with was a pleasure. We were so excited to get her home that we drove six hours to pick her up! I just want to say THANK YOU!

I recently retired from teaching. I was looking for a pal to hang out with and my daughter suggested I adopt a Pug. I went online to look for a dog near my home. I luckily came across the posting for Indiana. He originally was owned by an elderly woman, who passed away. The caretaker of her house took him in, but because he already owned several dogs, Indiana was fighting with them. The caretaker posted a message on Rescue Me, and I answered it. Indiana is now a part of my family. My husband and I are enjoying Indiana. He sleeps in his crate at night and attends doggie day care when I have to be away from the house for long periods. I'm glad I found him.

Elvis was an offspring of two of my pugs who already had owners who loved him, but they had to give him up for adoption due to personal reasons. I took the task of finding him a new home. Elvis was blessed to be placed in an excellent home with loving and caring new owners. I'm positive that he will be well taken care of and will live a life full of fun and love. The owners are wonderful people. Thank you, Rescue Me, for your assistance.

Well, first off, she is not a Pug! She is a Border Terrier, and a very, very pretty little girl at that!!! Even though she is at the moment about 850 miles away from her forever home, we are working very hard on setting up everything to get her home by next weekend. Everyone is so excited and looking forward to making this baby part of our family. We are very much aware of how the Border Terriers are, and know that they do not do well in changing situations, so the sooner we can get her settled the better it will be for her. I want to thank Rescue Me for being here and offering their service so that people such as myself are able to locate the pet they wish to adopt. As for me, I had been searching for several months and actually broke down crying when I found her. I doubt I will really believe she is mine until I hold her in my arms. Once again, thank you Rescue Me for being here and all that you do.

Dear Jeff, It is true that Odie did indeed get placed with a wonderful, loving family. We are so grateful because we were concerned about Odie being a larger (Pugzilla), older, house dog. It gets even better because the lady lives with her daughter, son-in-law and two young grandsons who are very excited to have him and who will help with his care. What a complete blessing for us all (especially Odie). As a result, we will always think of Rescue Me if we or anyone we know needs your services. You certainly will be added to our make a difference charity list!

You guys at Rescue Me are truly amazing to do this! I wish there was more like you guys! Rocky, though I miss the little guy; I cannot be happier for finally getting him a good home. Rocky, was adopted by a young woman who had a blind dog (a Dalmatian of three years old.) who needed a friend, They had two other cats, who rocky has never been around, but the dogs a friendly one who loves kids, and dogs, so cats were new, but not bad thing! Rocky, loves the Dalmatian, and they sleep beside each other. I had Rocky for three years, and when my sister got married her husband did not like him. So I who helped raise him scene he was just old enough to be away from him mom; took him with my two dogs. I refuse to give him up unless his home was a good one. I could care less about money, as long as the dog gets a good home. I hope once I find me the right job, as I am a college student; I would love to take in older dogs, no one wants to until they find a good home, or until they breathe their last breath, as it is I am a college student in Computer Animation and have two dogs of my own, and my mom's dog I help take care of, so rocky would not get the full love I think he needed. He needed a young family. When I found your site I loved it! I love the people who have come to meet Rocky, and though some did not take him, they were all good people, who wanted him. And I would never find him a good home without you guys! Thank you so much! I will use this site when; I some day have my own rescue safe heaven for animals! God Bless you, and thank you for helping all those animals out there! You are angles for doing what you do. I suggest all my friends, and people across the world about your site, so thank you! If you don't mind, I like to suggest you have a donate shirts, and other stuff such as cup, hats with the Rescue Me website on it that way they can show your site off, and some the money can go to the rescue group I know I would buy it! Have different colors, breeds, but have the website and contact info on the shirts so you can have more people see your site! Thank you! Just some ideas! Thank you again for helping me out! May God Bless you!

It was such a hard decision putting Riley up for adoption, we loved him very much and he had been with us for five years. Recently our other two dogs had been becoming aggressive with him and we felt he was much happier as an only dog. We also travel a lot and most RV places only allow two dogs which meant Riley got left behind a lot. After about a week on Rescue Me!, I got a call from a very nice gentleman who had just lost his pug and missed him very much, he was retired and would be able to spend 24/7 with Riley which is what Riley needs. The adoption occurred a few days later and I cried for two days, but it seems to be a match made in Heaven for Riley. He is once again king of the castle and even gets to sleep with his new owner! While I miss him very much I am happy for him and know he will be loved every bit as much in his new home. Thank you, Rescue Me!, for helping all parties involved find a happy ending.

Buddy is now known as Tater Bug and he is the spitting image of my old man, Ziggy, who died 2 years ago at 16. He was totally blind from birth, and Tater seems to be totally sightless also. This is not a big deal to us, or to our older female Miz Pod who has taken to him like the proverbial duck to water! She resisted all our efforts to find her a friend till we found this little guy. Tater took to being a house-pug right away, and since we live in our motorhome about half the year, he has had to adjust to being a well-travelled kid as well! We could not have asked for a better fit for our family! Now if we can just fix his diet so we don't get run out of the place by pug fart, he will be the perfect pug! We got a keeper! Thank you Rescue Me! Hugs and blessings.

Our family was so excited to meet Manny. We immediately fell in love with him, and after five days he is a full member of the family. His sister Roxi loves having him to play with. We are so grateful to Jennifer of Halfway Home Rescue, and to Rescue Me!, for all the work and love you put into getting these precious animals a new forever home. I know Manny has one with us, and we couldn't be happier. Thank you.

Milo has been adopted by the most wonderful family!! It was as if he knew he had found his forever home the first time he laid eyes on his new family. He just kept giving his Dad kisses all over his face, and couldn't wait to jump in the car and meet his new doggie brothers and cousins!! His family are truly angels who have spent their lives both healing others and rescuing animals. Milo is one happy pug!! Thank you Rescue Me! and BARK for finding a match made in heaven.

I recently listed my daughter's pug for adoption as she is unable to keep him due to international traveling. Within hours, we were contacted by five promising new homes. This was a wonderful experience, and I would recommend Rescue Me! as a first stop for anyone interested in adopting or having to find a home for a pug. I am so happy I found Rescue Me!

We listed our Pug, and within a week he was adopted and in his new home. The Rescue Me! website was very effective and helpful with this process, and we couldn't be happier. We were even able to choose between three different families to make the best choice for our dog. We are very happy.

Rescue Me! was a great way for me to find a new home for my Pug 'Buster'. He has found a new family in Kansas not to far from home and I know they will love and care for him as I have for 5 years. Thank you.

I found the most wonderful family through Rescue Me! in a very short time and had many inquiries through your site. The family keeps me posted very often and I like the fact that this all rescues are done individually and not through a third party. This is the best rescue site on the Internet in my opinion. When I am in a position to do so, I will be making a donation so that Rescue Me! will continue to help other animals. I can't thank you enough!

I want to thank Rescue Me! for helping us find the most loving, caring and thoughtful family for our Pug Bugzee. We had to find a new home for Bugzee, due to our daughters allergies. We had him for almost 5 years and our hearts were breaking. The family that contacted us, drove 4 hours to us, sent video of their home and pictures of their family and dog. When we met them today, they were everything plus more... caring and extremely thoughtful to our daughters. Although our hearts are broken, we couldn't find a better family for him to live with, and now he has a new dog sister as a companion. Thank you, Rescue Me! There are wonderful people out there!!

Prior to posting on Rescue Me!, we had several people come look at Frankie over the course of the past few months and no one was willing to take the time or have the patience/skill to help him become comfortable around people again after his last abusive home. Thanks to this site we found a wonderful family to adopt him that was more than willing to work with him. They were so kind and caring and we've received an update with pictures of him rolling over for stomach scratches and taking walks on the beach and saying that he does not even act anxious or nervous around them already and it's only been a few days. Thanks so much. :)

We were co-fostering a cute little Pug named Milo. He had been available for some time and then I decided to post him on Rescue Me and within hours we had inquiries. 2 days later he has a new loving home. Help spread the word about www.RescueMe.org Tell your shelter and your local rescues. This is a NATIONAL rescue posting site and as far as I'm concerned should be the ONLY rescue page anyone should need so that nationally everyone knows where to look or where to send someone looking to adopt. Having 1000's of rescue posting sites doesn't help our cause. THIS is the answer! Wesley

Dear Jeff, Yes Chunk has been 'adopted' by Pugs n Kisses of Central Arkansas!!! They will be getting him the medical help he needs for his allergies, and getting him settled into a foster home until they find him a forever-home. This is a bitter-sweet situation for our family, since we have had him since he was 6 weeks old & could fit in my hands... but being a single mom, am unable to afford the bi-monthly doctor visits & allergy testing he so desperately needs, this is a choice we know is for his best interest. Your site is the reason he has been given a second chance!!! =D I had a response within 12 HOURS of posting Chunk for adoption!! Amazing, what would we do without a wonderful site like Rescue Me! ? Thank you doesn't seem like enough, but please know it is from the depths of my heart... Warmest regards, Cara

Rescue Me! worked perfectly for me and my family. I found a wonderful home for both of my pugs Ivan and Bella. It was very hard for me to rehome them but I felt much better after meeting the man that took them. He sends me updates on them and they are doing well. We are also going to be able to visit them. This site is awesome. :)

This site is amazing! I was able to find a great, loving family with a big fenced in yard for my dog! I visited with the family and they have another dog who Livia met before we placed her with the family. The dogs got along and Livia loved the yard and her new family right off the bat. We all had great communication before and after the adoption. I feel relieved I was able to find such a loving home for her through this site and so quickly. Livia's posting was only up 24 hours before I already had a home for her! Thank you, Rescue Me!

Bugsy now has a better home and two new playmates (Dotson and Puggle) from his new adoptive parents. We exchanged emails and phone numbers so we can still keep in touch!      I posted Peanut's profile on a whim, hoping that in the next few months she would get adopted. The very same day I posted, I got an email from a woman who was very interested in meeting Peanut. She came by our home today, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better adoptive 'parent' for Peanut. It broke my heart to see Peanut leave and to no longer have her a part of our family for the past ten years, but I know this was the right decision for Peanut. I am very lucky to have found her new owner. And it would not have been possible without Rescueme.Org. Thank you!

Dear Jeff, I was able to find Bandit a great home using your website. I found your website easy to use and most helpful with my current situation. I was recently unemployed and found an apartment in CA with my cousin and a new job. So I was unable to take him with me. A lot of people were interested in him so it made me feel confident that he will have a great home cause I was able to pick one. The family that has him is truly amazing and wonderful. It was hard to say good bye to him but with your adoption website made it so much easier. The family loves dogs and fell in love with Bandit right away. I find it truly amazing and inspiring that you do this website and also that it is completely free. I will be sending an donation to you. May God bless you and your life and may you be an inspiration to others. Sincerely, Diane Jupin

Hello Jeff, Thank you for contacting me about my pug adoption experience. Angel, aka Sassy, our new baby-pug is doing fabulous! Due to the loss of my pug Morpheus who was adopted through Ohio Pug Rescue I wanted to once again adopt from a rescue. Upon searching for a puppy- pug I came across 'Rescue Me' by searching on 'Pet Finder'. Once I found your rescue by entering 'puppy-pug' there sat a beautiful little girl who I new was a perfect match for myself and my two other rescues, Ozzy (pug)and Rex (black lab-mix). My experience adopting Angel was very organized and I was pleased with the response time once I requested more information about adopting Angel. The staff and foster mom 'Diane' made the adoption worry-free and pleasurable. I would definitely recommend 'Rescue Me' to anyone that has the desire to give an adoptable pet a forever home! Thank you and all your volunteers for all you do for otherwise homeless pets! God Bless all homeless puppies and older animals that come to your organization, they are so lucky and blessed! Mary
