Rescue Me ID: 17-10-15-00410Alice (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Shelters are no place for wee girls like Alice...but this little girl found herself in one. Much like the fall down the rabbit hole for the Alice in Wonderland, it was quite a terrifying experience but she seems to be settling in now that she's in a private foster home with the rescue. Alice Is a 4-year-old pug/Chihuahua. She is good with other dogs and cats. She is housetrained. She is nervous when she first meets new people. Alice would best be suited in home without small children. She is very food motivated and her foster has been working on the sit command so maybe a little more training would help with her socialization skills with ... (Read More)new people. She is affectionate and loves hugs from her special person. If someone is willing to take it slowly to get to know her she will be a great companion. The adoption fee for Alice is $350 She is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped and current on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Rescue Me ID: 17-10-15-00251Dory (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dory is a fun loving, adorable little girl. (Much like the Disney character.) She is a 7 year old Shiba Inu/Pug mix and weighs about 20 pounds. She can be a little bit selective about her canine friends but she does fine with cats. She would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. Dory arrived to rescue when her people passed away. She is a sweet girl that adores her people and craves attention. She loves to cuddle and go for walks. She desperately wants to be the apple of someone's eye. She would really do best in a home as an only dog - where she can be the center of someone's universe. She loves to play with toys...and enjoys ... (Read More)a good chew bone. Dory is somewhat of a chow hound and we've put her on a good quality food and a diet since being here so that she can be at a healthy weight. She's doing well with her diet and needs a person that is committed to following through with her diet. Dory is so deserving of a forever family. She tries so hard to please everyone. The adoption fee for sweet Dory is $350. She is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, heartworm negtative, microchipped and current on all flea, tick and heartworm preventatives. If your universe needs a center and you have room in your heart for Dory, please contact us for more information at: adoptions@hillhounds.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-15-00242Poogie (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Poogie is as cute as they come. This sweet girl is a Boston Terrier/Pug mix. Commonly called a 'Bug'. She is only 3 years old and about 18 pounds. She has a beautiful brindled coat. She has already been through enough for any dog twice her age. Poogie is a wonderful girl who arrived in rescue through no fault of her own - her human passed away and no provisions were made for her. Family dropped Poogie off in a shelter which was a terrifying experience for her. She completely shut down. We received a call to come get her. When we arrived she was hunched in a corner, paralyzed in fear. Over the next 48 hours we worked with her continuously ... (Read More)to gain her trust. Over the next week she began to decompress and settle in to her foster home. Today, she is a friendly, silly, eager to please girl. New experiences still frighten her a wee bit - but we are confident that she will continue to blossom once she has found her happily ever after. She enjoys walks, loves to cuddle and get belly rubs, she loves people and other animals. Poogie has done tremendously well with other dogs, cats and children. One family is going to be very lucky to adopt this girl! The adoption fee for Poogie is $350. She is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped and current on all flea, tick and heartworm preventatives. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-13-00362Cookie (female)

Pug    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Most cookies are small and sweet, but the best ones are the big ones. This girl is as sweet as any cookie you could ask for. She is also a little girl but slightly on the heavy side. Nothing a good old fashion portion control diet and exercise can't fix. Cookie is a 19 pound, 10-year-old fawn pug that is as adorable as she is sweet. She is very polite and doesn't beg for food constantly so a little weight loss shouldn't be too difficult. She is prone to bladder stones so she is prescribed Blue Buffalo Weight Management and Urinary Care. She lost quite a few teeth during her dental but she doesn't let that get in the way of enjoying her ... (Read More)meals and the occasional healthy treat. We don't know her past, but while she loves to cuddle and snuggle, she also isn't very demanding. She will humbly sit off to the side and usually wait to be invited (although when her foster mom lays on the couch for a little snooze she has learned that there is a spot for her along with the other dogs, and will come asking for a lift up). She likes to be with her people, and would probably love to sleep in her family's bed but is nicely crate trained so if that is not in the cards she will be fine. She does not bark much except when she sees her dinner being made and she happens to be on the other side of the gate- she gets very excited! When she is in the kitchen while food is being prepared she is much more patient and calm. She is beginning to want to play with toys and the other dogs in her current home. She seems to have a LOT of personality yet to give to her forever family! Cookie has started leash training and is able to take longer walks, but at this point if you are looking for a dog to walk a couple of miles with you, she is not it. When she came to her foster home, she marked a lot and did not seem to be house trained at all; she always wore a diaper for the first few weeks. She has improved immensely and has only had one accident in the last several weeks. She also seems to have very good holding power- her last out is around 8pm (and she doesn't even always go then) and she is good until 7am or so. She has never gone in her crate. She now sleeps in a more open enclosure with access to her crate and doesn't go potty in the open enclosure, either. Cookie can get a little possessive of 'her' person (the one who's lap she is on) and will sometimes get snarky with another dog who tries to get to close to her territory, but for the most part gets along with the other dogs in the foster home, however, while she would probably do okay with other dogs in the family, she would likely LOVE to be an only dog and be a spoiled little princess. Cookie's adoption fee is $250. She is current on vaccines, heartworm negative, has had a dental, spayed, microchipped and current on flea, tick and heartworm medications. Would you have room in your heart for a little Cookie that is looking for a warm lap? For more info please contact us at: adoptions@hillhounds.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-09-00412Sheeba (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Sheeba! The Hebrew meaning of the name 'Sheeba' is 'promise', and this Sheeba promises to be a faithful, loving companion. This gorgeous 10-year-old Boston Terrier/Pug mix weighs about 15 pounds. She has cataracts that have caused her to lose most of her vision but her hearing and her sense of smell certainly make up for it. She hasn't had any trouble navigating her foster home. Sheeba does well with cats and LOVES children. She is caught often napping with her foster family's one-year old. While she spends most of her time curled up with you watching tv or reading she still has plenty of spunk left in her. Sheeba enjoys sleeping ... (Read More)in bed with her human and will spend time in her own little bed while you are busy. She does have a little trouble getting down open stairs but once taken down the stairs of the family deck she will take care of business and come bouncing back up the stairs to come back in. Sheeba is NOT a big barker unless it is to welcome you home after you have been gone. Oddly enough for a pug, she LOVES baths. This darling older lady wants nothing more than to spend the rest of her life with a family of her own. She has many, many good years left. The adoption fee for Sheeba is $275. Sheeba is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. It will be important to keep her on a grain free diet due to allergies but this is readily available. Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Trebble's story... I am already neutered and up to date with shots. I found myself in a sticky situation when I arrived at a high kill shelter. I just don't understand what happened. This cool rescue picked me up and now I'm living with a great foster mom. I'm only 18 months old. I am an active pup and love to play with my people. It's probably best that I'm the only dog. I mean, really....I think I'm so much awesomeness in one package that one wouldn't need another dog. He is completely vetted - including all vaccinations and microchip. If you are interested in adopting. You can find an adoption application at www.celebratingpugs.com ... (Read More)Trebble has an adoption fee of $350 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-09-00223Jazzy (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

The music genre of Jazz includes the Blues which is very much like this adorable girls' life. Jazzy is a Shiba Inu/Pug mix. She is 7 years old and about 20 pounds. She is fun, playful and quite comical. Jazzy lost both of her people within a 4-year period and was surrendered to rescue recently upon the death of her human mom. She is a sweet dog that craves attention and sticks right with you. She wants to be the center of attention. She needs the reassurance that you know that she is there. This will probably settle down some once she is convinced that you, too, are not going to leave her. She is best suited to an only dog home, although ... (Read More)paired with the right, submissive dog, she'd do fine. Jazzy will need a home that is committed to helping her lose her extra pounds so that she can remain healthy going into her golden years. (While currently a little over weight, it doesn't slow this girl down at all.) She did come into rescue with her sister but we believe that it's best that they are placed separately. She will chase cats but settles down shortly. Jazz would fit best in a home with older children, she is housebroken and crate trained. The adoption fee for Jazzy is $350. She is current on all vaccines, heartworm negative, spayed micro-chipped and current on flea, tick and heartworm preventatives. Rescue Me ID: 17-08-15-00413Lola (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

In today's text message lingo, 'LOLA' means 'Lots Of Love and Affection' and this is our girl Lola. She is a 7-year-old chihuahua/pug mix weighing approx. 11.5 pounds. This doll hasn't met an adult she doesn't like but she does not do well with small children so kids over 10 would be best. Lola lost her home after her dad got married and the new wife insisted she been given up to rescue. This little lady is super friendly and outgoing and meets everyone with her cute little under-bite and tail wagging. Lola has just enough bounce in her to make her a great fit for an active family as well as enough lap dog to be comfy sitting by your side ... (Read More)all day. She is very well behaved. House trained and crate trained although there hasn't been a reason to crate her. She does have a crate and a bed that will follow her into her forever home to help with her transition. Lola is a Velcro dog and loves to be with her human. If you're sitting, she'd like to sit with you. If you're up and about, she wants to follow. Lola is in super health and is scheduled for a dental. Anyone would be very lucky to have this girl in their life. Don't you need a little Lola in yours? Lola's adoption fee is $350. She will have her dental, she is current on vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped, tested heart worm negative and is current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention. This precious lady a lot of life and love to give. If you think that she would fit into your life and lap, please contact us at'|http://celebratingpugs.com/ (Less)
