Rescue Me ID: 18-04-16-00386Sheeba (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Sheeba! The Hebrew meaning of the name 'Sheeba' is 'promise', and this Sheeba promises to be a faithful, loving companion. This gorgeous 10-year-old Boston Terrier/Pug mix weighs about 15 pounds. She has cataracts that have caused her to lose most of her vision but her hearing and her sense of smell certainly make up for it. She hasn't had any trouble navigating her foster home. Sheeba does well with cats and LOVES children. She is caught often napping with her foster family's one-year old. While she spends most of her time curled up with you watching tv or reading she still has plenty of spunk left in her. Sheeba enjoys sleeping ... (Read More)in bed with her human and will spend time in her own little bed while you are busy. She does have a little trouble getting down open stairs but once taken down the stairs of the family deck she will take care of business and come bouncing back up the stairs to come back in. Sheeba is NOT a big barker unless it is to welcome you home after you have been gone. Oddly enough for a pug, she LOVES baths. This darling older lady wants nothing more than to spend the rest of her life with a family of her own. She has many, many good years left. The adoption fee for Sheeba is $275. Sheeba is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. It will be important to keep her on a grain free diet due to allergies but this is readily available. If you have room in your heart and home for this beautiful girl please contact us at (Less)

Animal ID: 130762Dobby (male)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Cancer

[Read About Natural Cancer Care] Since September I have been fostering dogs with the MDSPCA. I am currently fostering a sweet little guy who is going to need a special family. Dobby, the amazing 7 year old Puggle, is that dog. Without a doubt, he will bring a lot of joy to his future family. In January, Dobby was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcomas. Unfortunately, they are malignant. However, the good news is that despite the fact that they commonly recur (re-growing in the same location) they are typically slow-growing and they normally do not spread to other areas of the body. His stitches have been removed, but he has several shaved patches on the back half ... (Read More)of his body. Unfortunately, Dobby has had urine accidents in our home pretty consistently since he arrived. There have been many days when there have been 0 accidents and days with up to 4. Frequent potty breaks help to minimize them, but we haven't yet figured out how to completely eliminate them (for example, he has accidents when someone is home to let him out). On school nights, he is let out for the last time around 9pm and sometimes wakes me in the middle of the night for a potty break. He does not have accidents at night. Dobby has been living with 3 children (ages 7, 14, and 17), 2 small dogs (Chiweenie and Pomeranian), and 1 assertive large cat in our home, and he fits in perfectly. He is gentle in his interactions with the kids, friendly with the dogs, and ignores the cat. He also did well when a friend visited for a week with her much larger Goldendoodle. Dobby is very calm in the house and does great in a crate when we have to leave. When he first joined us he was content to sleep on a mat next to my bed, but now he sleeps in the bed with me. He has had a weekend away from our family, and he did great sleeping in the crate. Dobby loves walks and enjoys time in our small backyard. Please contact me at if you are interested in learning more about Dobby. Please share this email with anyone who you think might be open to adding Dobby to their family. Rescue Me ID: 18-03-26-00095Jackie Boy (male)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jackie is the sweetest boy ever! He's shy and loving...and just a wee bit awkward...just enough to make him all that more adorable. We believe Jackie is 8ish years old. He came into rescue when both of his people died within 11 months of one another...leaving him and his brother orphans. Sadly, they were then dumped at a high kill shelter. They were terrified ...and for the first time - alone in the world. What else could go wrong...right? Well it did....Jackie was so terrified upon arrival at the rescue that he wiggled out of his harness and ran like the wind. We were bound and determined to find this little man...and after 2 weeks and ... (Read More)many hours of searching we did. Jackie is used to living in an adult household with seniors. He doesn't seem to care much for children so we would like to see him adopted into a quiet, adult only household. He is sweet and cuddly...and grateful for any amount of affection bestowed upon him. He gets along well with other dogs and ignores cats. He likes to sleep in bed under your blankets. And...he LOVES Skittles...yes, the candy. It was actually Skittles that aided us in catching him. Jackie's perfect home would have a fenced in yard - but it's not a requirement. It would probably be in his best interest to meet with his adoptive family a couple of times before going home. Jackie is bonded to his brother Frankie (see him on - so his home would have to include enough love for two boys. Jackie is up to date on vaccinations, wormed, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $350. Our adoption application and information can be found at (Less)
