Pug Rescue Information: The Pug is a small, stocky, short-haired dog with a wrinkled face and curled tail. Pugs are spirited and pleasant. Pugs are smart and sensitive and need gentle, consistent training. Pugs are wonderful with children and other pets. Pugs are very well-mannered with guests. This breed needs to be with people and likes to be the center of attention. Pugs do fine in an apartment. This breed needs to be sheltered from extreme temperatures.

Pug Trivia: Pugs date back to the fourth century B.C. Pugs were popular with European nobility during the Victorian period. Pugs were often kept by monks in Tibet. Napoleon received messages from his imprisoned wife, Josephine, under the collar of her Pug. British soldiers rescued several Pugs from the Summer Palace of the Chinese Emperor during the Second Opium War.
