Once again our dog population was low and we were able to make a trip south, to a high kill area, and managed to fit 37 dogs and one tiny Siamese kitten into the Yukon XL!!! Rarely is there much vet work done on the dogs we choose so we have the normal expenses of getting them ready for adoption on top of the shelter pull fees, gas, one night hotel stay and lots of coffee so a trip costs us about $800.00. However, this trip was sponsored by Regain Physical Therapy!!! They are located at 3819 Monroe Ave., Pittsford, NY and are a new business with a new facebook site and we'd love to have you facebook them, 'Like' them, and give them a ... (Read More)shout out of thanks! If you know any other businesses that might be willing to sponsor a southern rescue mission, please let us know. Not one dog complained about the long ride and all have settled in nicely. Many of them seemed to have understood, right away, that they were now safe in our Dog House with fresh blankets, lots of Science Diet food, automatic waterers and even toys! It gets a little confusing when getting files ready for so many, so if breed, size, age seems questionable with the photos shown, please let us know. We are doing the best we can to save as many as we can. We so appreciate your understanding and willingness to adopt a dog we know little about that would have been dead, within a few days, If they had not come here. We always test out of towners for heart worm. Branson was born about May 21, 2009 and weighs about 60 lbs. He has been wonderful with the other dogs and all us humans. We are so glad that he could make the journey! (Less)

Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Nitro was born about July 1, 2008 and weighs about 20 lbs. He is just cute as a button and has lots of playful energy for a mature gent. He is wonderful with other dogs and children. He is good on leash and does need a leash or a fenced yard as he can have some wanderlust. Nitro does struggle with house training as so many of these little dogs do and will benefit from having a potty floor pad available for when he just can't hold it. He is just a love, very happy, out-going, loves everyone. And best of all he is not a barker, which I really appreciate here!!!

Liam Pugalug was born about July 8, 2011 and weighs about 30 lbs. He is just as cute as he is wiggly, happy, friendly. He wiggled his way up our driveway and into our hearts. We can't imagine why he ended up stray and unwanted!!! He is wonderful with the other dogs and everyone he meets.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-09-00640Bailey (female) (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed

Bailey is a charmer. This 6 year old puggle is about 18 pounds of joy. She is housebroken and also uses wee wee pads. She is good with dogs. She adores children and is very social in general. We do not know about cats with this girl. She has been brought up to date on all vetting. Bailey is microchipped. She is spayed and ready for a home. She would love to be with a family although anywhere she gets lots of love and has a good loving home will be considered. She has a good deal of energy so a fenced yard would be great or else if you like to walk this would be a great dog for you. She has no issues. She just found herself in a ... (Read More)situation where her owners were moving after being rehomed due to another person moving. This is the final home for Bailey. She hasn't done a thing wrong and doesn't deserve to have no home. One introduction and you will be hooked on her. Applications available at www.nbrescue.org. Please be in the Long Island area or e-mail us before applying. References, vet ref, home check need to be done. (Less)

Pug Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

A 2 1/2 year old Jack Russell/Pug mix, Eli is a spunky little guy. He has no idea how small he is as he leaps upon the highest snow piles he can find and poses as if he just scaled Mt. Everest. An adorable dog, he has a taffy- colored coat, a black muzzle, intense black eyes and worry lines on his head. The worry lines are a ruse because he seems fearless. As an added bonus, he is already house trained. He is social yet to some extent jumpy. He seems to prefer women to men. Somewhat toy and blanket possessive he should go to a family without children. Come and meet this little dog; he is a hoot. Because of his small size, he would be ideal ... (Read More)for apartment or condo dwellers. For additional information, please phone 845-354-7900 (Less)
